Especially underground, many cave walls have gaps in walls that are just one block high. No one but chickens and baby zombies can fit in those gaps (or players, if swimming). But when you as a player are skirting the wall with one of these gaps, your character tries to auto-jump up on the ledge—and because you don't fit, you will always fall down. But this doesn't stop Auto-Jump from trying. This also breaks your pace of movement and can possibly throw off your aim with weapons, block or item placement, and is just generally annoying. So if Auto-Jump only triggered when there is actually room for a player to fit, it would be a small but significant quality-of-gameplay improvement.
