Note extender

This block would be made the same way a note block is made, except the red-stone set at the bottom center of the crafting table, and a clock in the center. It would look similar to the note block, but the outer edges would be gold/yellow. Setting this block on any side of the note block would cause the sound to build up at a slower speed, or hold the note a little longer once there is a red-stone signal. The time could be set by right clicking the block, just like picking the tune on the note block. This would have a short max limit of course. This would add something new to the note blocks, their function, and allow for more intricate songs, tunes, or sounds to be made in the game.
