"Ping" option in F3 or in settings so we can turn it on/off

Okay so I think it's finally time that we Minecraft players get "ping" in F3 or at least somewhere in settings so we can turn it on/off. As a European who definitely plays more on the US servers and sometime experience lag issues in Realms, it would be more helpful to have ping in Minecraft so I have an input on what's happening with my internet. Yes, we PC users can ping the IP in cmd, but it's not always the best option and you can't really ping Realms. I'm looking forward to this feature and keep up the good work. I understand you got priorities but please consider adding this feature sometime. Best wishes to Mojang :)
