I propose adding Tomatoes to Minecraft as a new crop that bridges the gap between farming and playful interaction. They fit the "Vanilla+" style perfectly and add more life to existing structures.
1. Where to find & Farming:
Locations: Tomatoes can be found in Village farm plots and chests.
The Humor Factor: They also spawn in Pillager Outpost chests. This adds a fun bit of lore: Pillagers use them for target practice!
Farming: Just like carrots and potatoes, you plant the tomato itself directly into the farmland. It has 4 growth stages.
2. Mechanics & Stats:
Stack Size: 16 (like eggs and snowballs).
Eating: Restores 1 hunger shank (2 points) and 1.2 saturation. It’s a quick, light snack!
Throwing (Right-click): You can throw them like snowballs. They deal 0 damage but have a unique interaction.
Visuals & Sound: Upon impact, they create bright red splash particles (no screen overlays) and a satisfying wet "SPLAT!" sound.
3. Why it’s great for Minecraft:
It provides a warm-biome alternative to snowballs for players in Deserts or Jungles.
It adds more variety to farming without adding complex new mechanics.
It’s perfect for friendly pranks and community-made mini-games!
