the log should be dark gray
and the tree that gives more shadow
and it gives you more shoots

it grows better in the lakes or swamps

Either dark gray or white would be cool, although I think birch is already white enough for me, so my vote is for dark gray. It would go great with modern builds. Maybe the tree could be unique in that it only generates naturally up to a certain distance from water.

Other idea: mangrove trees that only grow in water. And/or maybe one of the two trees could be the first tree to self-propagate, meaning it could occasionally generate shoots (i.e. saplings) occasionally, which could grow into new trees. If it was mangroves this phenomenon could be limited by water depth.

I think a self-propagating tree could be really cool because it would add an aspect of trees growing after world generation, and players having to "weed out" a species of tree (but it wouldn't get too out of control because it would be limited by either distance from water or water depth).

The bark could be used to make medicine that counteracts potions.

I feel like a dark yellow would fit aesthetically
