There are stone buttons, which stay activated for 1 second after being clicked. There are wooden buttons, with a delay of 1.5 seconds. I suggest the touchpad, which stays activated as long as you are clicking it, no longer. You can hold-click for as long as you want, but as soon as you let go, it deactivates. It would be crafted with 4 copper ingots in a diamond shape around 1 red stone dust.
When this suggestion realises, I have an extra addition to this idea. A bit like the chest and the trapped chest, the touchpad could also have a secure counterpart: the secure touchpad. This can only be activated by the player who placed the block. However, perhaps, if the owner sneaks and then clicks on the secure touchpad, the the touchpad would enter Permission mode. The next player to touch a secure touchpad gets added to the allowed ‘fingerprints’ list. This means that they are also able to activate the touchpad. The Secure Touchpad would be crafted with a touchpad and an observer.
I hope you people like this idea and that it becomes real. It would make security a much simpler and more exciting process.
