Overhaul skeletal mechanics

The skeletons were warriors during their lifetime, right? Why do they have infinite arrows and bow durability? Pillagers can break their crossbows. I suggest that skeletons have an inventory and always spawn with random equipment like a shield and an ax. They would only engage in melee combat when they ran out of arrows (if any).
