The swamp needs some danger in the water and alligators or crocodiles are the perfect addition. I know all hostile mobs should be mythical creatures but they wouldn't be hostile but would have agression systems similar to the polar bears while still being different. There would be a new type of chunk called alligator chunks if you enter an alligator chunk the alligators in the chunk and around the chunk that are in a 10 block radius attack you, if you leave the alligators lose agro unless you swim in water, an alligator chunk is the only place they can breed If provoked alligators will attack. Algae would spawn on water like lily pads and would have a texture similar to glow lichen. You can swim through it and harvest it with shears. It can be dyed and turned into food or not dryed to become fatch which can become stairs and slabs as minecraft's first green stairs and slabs. It would fill 1 bar of hunger. Vines are everywhere in swamps it would be nice to see some variation and vines with flowers would be nice to see. You could craft it using vines and flowers. With trees falling down and a lot of water drift wood would be wood that is a darker mangrove log that spawns in water. It can be crafted into rotting planks that break if you stand on them for to long. Giant mushrooms exist in bedrock in the swamps why not java? Also mushroom clusters the grow on the sides of blocks would be nice. Lily pads should come in cluster and different sizes and flowering variants
