I believe I have an idea to help implement the bundle better. First I think there is one main reason bundles weren't added, which I've solved. I believe the reason was that the developers noticed having bundles made of rabbit hides made rabbits useful, but bundles were too hard to get. In addition bundles are nearly completely useless in mid to late game. My idea if implemented should fix this problem completely.
My idea is that rabbit hides can be used to make "light bundles" and leather could make "heavy bundles". (Though I think these names aren't good and there should be better names) The one made out of leather would be the normal bundle in Java Snapshots where there is a maximum of 1 stack of items that can be held. The one made from rabbit hide would then hold 3-5 stacks. Not a crazy amount that would be op, but enough to be helpful for mid game players who get enchantment books and other no stackable items.
Now you might ask why this would make sense. The reason it makes sense is that leather is so much thicker than rabbit hide. This is shown through multiple rabbit hides being combined to make leather. The thicker material of leather would cause there to be less space inside the bundle than the rabbit hide bundle.
I hope if a Mojang developer sees this, they will at least bring it up to other developers and try to get this feature in the game. If you aren't a developer, please comment suggestions and support this idea to increase it's chance of being implemented.
