"Classic" World Generation

It would be neat to be able to choose a classic Y0-256 world in 1.18+ for a challenge or just to relive the old days without having to lose features.

    Maybe a way to control on what levels ores generate in the world creator? And an option to create the world without the deep dark? And maybe a way to control the build height restriction?

    Oh this is a fun idea, especially in Java edition, which already has amplified and single biome etc.

    I dont see this fitting as well in Bedrock...

    I agree while I think caves and cliffs is cool and really good looking it practically destroyed the way I have always played Minecraft and I dont find it as fun as Minecraft before 1.18. I’ve never really been a fan of the new additions to Minecraft since bedrock was made the standard version but the additions never changed the fundamental way I played the game they only add more for me to do but caves and cliffs completely changed it and now I find myself going to worlds I started and gave up on just to find some semblance on old good Minecraft (in my opinion)

    I think minecraft just needs to be a lot more customizable in the world creator, the ability to choose which biomes generate and which ones don't, the ability to decide which structures generate, the ability to decide which mobs spawn. And achievements could be turned off during this to prevent cheating.
