I've been playing minecraft for a long time now. Playing before beds were added. And since I started, I've been heavily focused on the building aspect of the game. Worked on adventure maps. Last being the defunct Kingdom of the Sky 3.
Since they were added back in 2015, I've had a major issue with this and I know many others have as well. I like to build in survival. Big elaborate houses. In them I like having libraries that double as my enchanting room.
But, it's absolutely impossible to make my enchanting room look like I want due to the distance that the bookshelves have to be away from the enchanting table itself. The room can't be an elaborate design due to the fact the book shelves have to be only one block away. In my latest build, I've just accepted that it wont work as a functioning enchanting table, and have just left it at the base level of enchantment, even though there are books everywhere in the room around it.
I think it would make a lot of people happy if the distance cap on the table was bumped up to at least five blocks. This way, people can build like they want to and still have a working enchanting table.
I don't know if this is something you all plan to do at some point or not, but just like the different sized Neather portals, this would help people build and create in more interesting ways that fit what they are going for.
Thank you so much for your time. I hope to hear from you all.
