Villages currently generate often in very odd ways that don't always look aesthetically pleasing or functional.
Houses can be floating or inaccessible. etc.
This is because they generate anywhere within an existing biome seemingly quite regardless of the terrain.
If they are changed to generate in their own small biome that is a sub-variant of the existing biomes this could vastly improve this issue as the terrain generation (hills rivers etc.) could be toned down and flattened to allow the structures to rest naturally within the landscape.
For example instead of:
Plains > Village
or
Desert > Village
Have:
Plains > Plains Village > Village
Desert > Desert Village > Village
This would also allow for more aesthetic items such as ponds, outbuildings, and hills to be added and generated around the village to add any missing variety in the terrain and also lay the foundation for more rare and impressive towns and cities to be generated - perhaps with walls.
Additionally, using the existing system, all the buildings should be modified to be larger & more realistic/intricate. With the vastness of the game the buildings look very small and un-impressive, especially compared to the woodland mansion and pillager outpost.
