Phantoms are undead mobs, every other mob has a living known counterpart, zombies, skeletons and their variants are once humans, which is the player and a mob removed a long time ago, zombified villagers are once villagers, zombified piglin are once piglins, zombified and skeleton horses are once horses, and the wither is a Frankenstein-like abomination summoned by the player using other undead mob parts and soul sand But the phantom has no known alive variant, although being undead, it's an undead version of something My suggestion is that there be an alive version of it, an amphitere dragon, that uses it's wings as both legs to crawl and wings to fly, with flamboyant rainbow-like wings making cute sounds, a neutral carnivore mob 1-block tall when adult, that lives in mountain tops (or floating islands), close to world height limit where the surviving unzombified versions of them thrive, nesting on the top, They live together with a strong bond in between, and protect each other as wolves, it can be tamed using gems, preferentially the diamonds which have a color similar to it's eyes, that it uses to decorate it's nest which can also be used to breed them, and keeps flying through the air close to the player when following (or on shoulders), and can protect the player from foes and set targets, circling around and swooping them similarly to the phantoms, can be set to attack something from a distance by using the spyglass and whistling when a mob or a player be on it's sight
