The End feels unfathomably ancient and I think the fauna should reflect this.
The void between End islands is prime real estate for a variety of flying mobs, both ambient and useful, much like how the Update Aquatic changed the overworld oceans.
Specifically I think inspiration should be taken from aquatic creatures of the Earth’s distant past, with radiodont, cephalopod, eurypterid and placoderm adjacent mobs making up a diverse ecosystem of void-going creatures.
