Way to make leads invisible

It would be cool to be able to keep mobs in certain places without always having to use a fence. So I thought it might be cool to be able to throw a splash potion of invisiblity on a fencepost with a lead tied to it to make it invisible. This way it looks like the mob is moving freely, but it is still contained so it won't wonder somewhere you don't want to be.
