The Amethyst Golem, a tiny mob that places light sources for you.

 

The amethyst golem loves all things that emit light, such as glowstone, torches, lamps, and even amethyst buds themselves. When you give it a light source, like torches, it will walk around to dark areas and place them down to illuminate the area for you. This would be especially useful in the new mega caves. It is afraid of all hostile mobs and will run away to safety when they approach it.

 

The golem would be built with a single amethyst block, a pumpkin on top, and an amethyst bud over the pumpkin.

 

The golem would be 1.5 blocks in height. With a body texture similar to the existing amethyst block, and what looks like an amethyst cluster on the top of its head.

  Or just make amethyst collars for dogs that make the dog glow in the dark, that could work too!

  Hey your idea is awesome. And i will add to the golem two little wings in the back that can help him

  to fly a little to place torches and lanterns in the roof of the dark places.
