Wax Cylinders would be a new item in Minecraft crafted with honeycombs and some other item (Amethyst? Copper? String? Gunpowder?). However, Wax Cylinders would be used for a completely new gameplay mechanic: Sound recording. This would allow players to record in-game sounds around them within a specific radius, with more distant sounds being recorded at a lower volume. This could be used to record elaborate note block songs that you’ve built, and then play them on a Jukebox later. Or, you could record spooky sounds in caves and make your own version of Disc 11 or 13. After recording the music, the player can use either an Anvil or some other block to rename the wax cylinder to whatever title they want their recording to have, and it will also be saved as a .wav or .mp3 file in the player’s game files.
This would essentially allow the player to create their own custom music discs, hidden messages, and more, and then play it wherever there is a jukebox. The player could also copy a wax cylinder by crafting two together.
