The Warden being attracted to worn pieces of armour
Since the Warden already "smells" the player, it could be temporarily attracted dropped items that also carry the players scent. Things like worn armour or tools. Leather armour could be the most potent in this ability, distracting the Warden for the most amount of time. This adds a bit of strategy to deep dark exploration. The amount of time the the Warden is distracted for depends on the item, with a chestplate distracting it the most and something like a helmet the least. So you could sacrifice a chestplate in order to escape or try run.
