I think, because activating skulk sensors and screechers can have such heavy consequences, that there should be a way to avoid this during end-game playing. I suggest adding a sort of "silence" enchantment that can go on either armor or another type of tools that makes your actions that would cause sound to either cause less sound or no sound (depending on what it is). This enchantment should be loot only alike to mending and only found in the deep cities. (maybe a reward for defeating warden?)
