Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Use the Lighting Rod as a Weapon

The lighting rod could be used as a weapon to electrocute and shock mobs. All you have to do is leave it outside facing the sun so its battery could be solar-powered  and charged. When the Lighting Rod's battery is fully charged, you can summon lighting at any mob you want to shock and defeat.

    I have a similar thought. Perhaps you need to place a lightning rod and have it get struck by lightning in order for it to be charged. Once it's charged it does tremendous damage but only has a handful of hits. Once it's durability runs out, it becomes a regular lightning rod again.

    I disagree with solar power as it's a lightning rod and not a solar panel, and I think ranged attacks would be overpowered and it makes sense for it the charge to be passed via contact
