Currently, the Endermite is one of the most useless mobs (excluding its usage in endermen XP farms) found within Minecraft. It is extremely rare, reuses the same AI and sound effects as the Silverfish, and is often quickly killed by Endermen before players can get a good look at it. To counteract this, I believe that the Endermite should embrace its namesake and be given behavior that'd be fitting of the name "Endermite". To do this, I think it should be able to infest chorus plants, reproducing into groups of 2 inside of infested chorus flowers, which then pop out and attack the player once the chorus plant is destroyed (or a nearby endermite is attacked, similar to the silverfish). Chorus plants infested with endermites will have stunted growth and a decreased yield of chorus fruits from the overall plant once it is destroyed. I also feel that the endermite should not be automatically targetted by endermen, but instead may choose to hitch a ride on the head of endermen, causing them to panic and rapidly teleport until the endermite feels that it is surrounded by mostly uninfested chorus plants, at which point it will hop off and go on to infest these plants. In this way, the endermite fills in the niche of a crop pest of the end, while also taking inspiration from the real world behavior of actual mites, which hitch rides on other animals to find new food sources.
