Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

1.19 Firefly lightbulbs

As 1.19 will introduce fireflies, swamps, mangroves, etc. it only makes sense that, as a part of swamp people (like myself) culture, it will include capturing fireflies. Now, there are not any jars in Minecraft, but there *ARE* bottles. We could use bottles to capture fireflies and, depending on how many we catch, it could give it a different brightness. These could be hanged around and, to not just be light bulbs, they could show the lightning bugs flying around inside. These would be very good for map making, and for builders who would like to not have huge, bulky lanterns hanging in their houses.

 

Edit: They could also work as a timed bulb, only lighting up in the dark, giving them different uses than the lantern. I think this idea should definitely be considered, especially since it would give the fireflies an actual use and not just make them an atmospheric mob and frog food.

    I was thinking the same thing but i said add nets and jars being able to place jars with fireflys for brightness or a jar with a frog in it catching it in a net automatically puts it into a jar.

    One could also use bottled fireflies to move them from swamp biomes to another biome!

    This would be an AWESOME item to have in game! I'm already hyped about them in general for the atmosphere itself, but I would LOVE to have a use for them as well!
