Soul Fire sources should emit a new type of light level (Sky/Block/Soul) called Soul Light Level which prevents ANY mob from spawning as long as soul light level on that block is nonzero.
Why? Minecraft has a big issue of spawn proofing, specially so in the Nether. If you are playing Java Edition, nether roof is a nice place to be safe from having to spawn proof areas by placing pressure plates and slabs everywhere and ruining your landscape, but Mojang has to move on from that. When I play bedrock edition, its impossible to construct farms in the nether because you can't build on the roof and finding a sufficiently large lava lake is also not really a viable option.
The solution to universal spawn proofing is simple, if Soul Light blocks all mob spawns it can also have practical purpose in overworld animal spawning, overworld fish/squid/drowned spawning, nether mob spawning, disabling spawners including Blaze ones more easily (Soul Light sources are still mid-game so its fine) and also other types of obsecure spawning methods Mojang keep adding! It is a simple, intuitive, intended fix to the current obsecure methods to prevent spawning like slabproofing. Please Mojang, I just want to make to have a safe area in the basalt deltas I keep spawning in and make a pigman farm in my worlds without using exploits or destroying the beautiful and eerie landscape of the nether with slabs!
