Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Somehow I think this wouldnt work well, due to the way fishing rods are cast out and the ease of crafting them.

This would however give a unique feature to fishing rods, but I think it would be better to implement a different item for this, and improve fishing rods and their mechanics.

If this where to be added it would be better to redo the mechanics of casting the rod first, and to make this into an enchantment (What would it even be called? There isn't a name I can think of currently, that Mojang would go with.).

I am not opposed to the idea, but fishing rods have several key issues that need to be addressed first. Such as their main purpose being reimplemented better, and the way they hook items and mobs being unbalanced and being too useless for PVP combat or gathering items.
