So, here is small observation that I've made during a game-play of using just iron tools and taking note of numbers.
While the iron tools have a respectable 250 uses before breaking, it seems a bit underwhelming for first proper material for tools especially when compared to diamond that sits at 1561 uses. To put that in some perspective, Unbreaking III iron tool that has about 1000 uses is mere 66% of unenchanted diamond's performance (something amplified by fact how stone tools at Unbreaking III get up to 524 uses, literally double of unenchanted iron tools).
So, what I'd suggest (outside of new material taking this durability like steel) is that iron tools could be buffed to about 480-520 uses instead: it would offer iron tools to operate as base-line solid items with good enough durability while still being far enough from diamond's prestige-status (for example 520 durability iron at Unbreaking III would now get up to 2080 uses, something that diamond tools can beat with just Unbreaking I to have about 3122 uses thus keeping it as option for larger projects/mining limited items).
Yeah, just something that I pondered about: not necessarily something I'd obsess to get in game, but never hurts to suggest. What do ya think?
