Alternatives to Elytra/Shulker Boxes

Shulker Boxes and Elytra are regarded late game the only way to transport items and the player. We either need alternatives or other methods to be buffed. For example we could surround a shulker box with phantom membranes to allow for more slots. We could use diamonds, since late game they are not very useful, and will create an incentive to continue mining after the early to mid game, to make bundles hold more items and so much more possibilites. In certain biomes with the right armor, horses could be faster than elytra and boats in cold oceans will receive a speed boost, allowing different methods for specific situations, like gold armor with piglins
