Pigeons

Carrier pigeons would be an amazing addition to MInecraft, it would be a great way to send items to other players and back to your base.

Pigeons could spawn close to villages and be tamed in order to be used. Untamed pigeons can just fly around freely, and it would be funny if they could fly over you sometimes and poop on you, causing a small damage.

You should also be able to craft bird houses where the pigeons would go and tell the pigeon which one to go to when you send it. These bird houses would be where the pigeon lives and they would also have an inventory (kind of like a mailbox/chest thing) where the pigeons drop objects that you sent. There would be a number of pigeons you can have per birdhouse (like 4-5?).

A cage would also be handy to put the pigeon into and take it with you (like you would put a fish in a bucket) so you can send things while you're not close to your base/birdhouse. 

Maybe this one is just me wantinting to have cute pigeons, but it would be great if you could give pigeons different colour little collars like dogs have or a different colour feather so you know which pigeons are yours and which ones are other people's (or just for fun cause its cute).

It would also be a great way to send messages if you don't want to use the chat. Pigeons would have an option to write a message to send along with whatever item you give them (or just a message by itself). 

If you need more reasons to add pigeons to the game, just think about how cute and amazing they are.

    The greatest idea for now imo. It's those little things that matter and I definitely want a pigeon cage in my minecraft. Voted

    If it's better pigeons in Minecraft it gives more realism and I'm a fan of pigeons (don't make me blling please) well I hope the players vote for this to be in 1.19 or 1.20

    I have raised dozens of pigeons in my own house. I also like pigeons very much. I think the pigeon should be taken out in a cage after it is identified as its home. After it is released, it will fly in the direction of home. The biggest feature that distinguishes it from parrots is that each pigeon has different attributes, and their probability of returning home is also different.

    I'd love carrier pigeons!
    instead of bird houses I'd say something like a nest, so people can build a pigeon loft. I think tamed pigeons shouldn't follow you but stay close to the nest if it's nearby. They should carry a bundle, messages and items can be put inside. they drop the bundle in the nest (looks similar to food on campfires), to the next nearest nest if it's full, or keep flying until it's emptied. the collar is a colorful foot ring. they come in multiple colors like horses :-)
    I think the small cage should also work on bats, bunnies, chickens, and other small mobs I'm forgetting. "paper and quill" item should be added which is like a two-pages book (front and back), and maybe the ink sack would work differently for those? I'm getting carried away
