So the caves and cliffs : part 2 is almost here .The deep dark caught my attention as place for lots of deepslate , new sculk growths but most importantly The Warden . As seen by all the Warden will rip anything into pieces if it got into the path of one of those 4 blocks high guys
BUT What if there were more sculky things creeping around ... I give you THE SCULKMITE
It is one more variant of the silverfish ... it of course spawns in the deep dark , has Sculk like growths growing out of it and also like the warden blind but can hear everything a warden can ...
I brought up this idea when I thought about the endermites they are so adapted to the end and can survive the wasteland but what about the deep dark .. Could silverfish survive the darkest part of the overworld filled with lava pools , wierd growths with ears and a 4 block tall monster which could just stamp the bug into a paste and puff of white particles so I thought of this silverfish binding with the sculk to form a Sculkmite . It could be a friend of a Warden shaking its skulk growths to call a nearby Warden and also attack pretty much like a silver fish but blindly. It could also infest a sculk block like how normal silverfish infest stone.
TL:DR A silverfish that got infected by sculk , calls the warden when it detects anything and infests sculk blocks
Edit : I saw the new spawning mechanics of the Warden in the Minecraft live 2021 so it will not just attract the warden but also act as a moving sculk sensor
