In the depths of the deep dark, you would be able to very rarely find a special bottle. (Slightly less rare than the chance for Netherite ingots in treasure bastions.)
If placed next a lightning rod, this bottle could capture lightning. Channeling strikes could work as well. Once the lightning in a bottle has been obtained, it can be placed in a brewing stand which then provides the player with a Haste 10 effect for 3 minutes. (Lightning has got to be powerful).
At Haste 10, wood, blue ice and nether bricks become insta-minable. When boosted with glowstone, this potion would become Haste 15. This is the level of haste at which deepslate becomes insta-minable with Efficiency V netherite.
This solves a couple problems players are concerned about with C&C:
- digging a perimeter
- obtaining large quantities of deepslate, wood, netherbrick
We are left with a problems here:
Due to the short nature of lightning storms, players would only have enough time to brew a small amount of potions if they only had 1 special bottle. Channeling helps this some, but lightning storms are far too rare to this to be farmed.
A possible solution is to allow the lighting in a bottle to be released when given a redstone signal. This would start a lightning storm for a short time. Releasing lightning would cause an explosion that deals high damage but doesn't break blocks (similar to normal lightning strikes.) This way, if 2 bottles have been obtained, lightning storms could be started at will.
