Sugercane feedback

So i started new world in new snapshot and after 1 hours of searching i got 3 sugercane 

I didn't plant them and used them to make a book and then i realised i needed some for suger and now 

it's been more than 1 hour of running and i am not seeing any sugercane 

I am not sure if it's intensional or a bug but i used to find sugercane everywhere in 1.17.1.
