Reaching the End in Minecraft is currently very fast: players only need Eyes of Ender to find a Stronghold and activate the portal. This suggestion aims to make the journey to the End more adventurous and meaningful by adding exploration, relic collection, and a guardian boss.
Instead of activating the portal with Eyes of Ender, players would collect ancient relic fragments from different structures across the world, such as Jungle Temples, Ocean Monuments, Trial Chambers, Bastions, Nether Fortresses, and Ancient Cities. These fragments could be combined into a single End Relic, which would activate the End Portal.
To locate the Stronghold, players could craft a new item called the End Seeker, a device that consumes Eyes of Ender as fuel and shows pulsing signals that guide the player toward the Stronghold.
Inside the Stronghold, the portal room would be protected by a new mob: the Stronghold Guardian, a mini-boss made of stone and End energy that awakens when players approach the portal. The surrounding blocks would be protected from mining or explosions until the guardian is defeated.
When defeated, the guardian drops a Portal Key that unlocks the portal room. Afterward, the guardian becomes passive and protects the portal from hostile mobs.
This system would encourage exploration, add a boss encounter before the End, and make reaching the End feel like a true adventure.
