Parity means making features behave consistently across different Minecraft editions, most commonly between Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Use this category to discuss released features that exist in both versions of the game but work differently. Please note that bugs are not parity issues and should be reported separately.

I was thinking about posting this very same thing!

I've actually already thought of how this could be implemented.

Currently, in Java Edition, Screens are hardcoded, meaning they can only be added or modified through client-side mods. In contrast, Bedrock Edition defines its UI in resource packs, allowing screens to be added and customized without modifying the game itself.

Since Java Edition is already moving towards more data-driven systems, I believe this would fit perfectly with the direction the game is already taking.

It would allow Menu code which is logic to remain on server-side code like Plugins (because Java doesn't have a scripting engine like bedrock), while screen configurations can be defined in resource packs.

And to tie this back into Servers, and Custom UIs, Since Java servers can already send custom resource packs to clients on join, and can already use multiple kinds of Plugins, Menus can continue to be defined in Plugins, while the UI Screens in resource packs, which would totally eliminate the use for fake chest inventories
