Bread Crumbs

Bread crumbs could be placed by right clicking with bread on a block. Not only will this help with retracing your steps, but it will also attract all mobs, including hostile. Mobs will walk over to it, and if they are attracted to wheat, they will start eating the crumbs. It will take 4 seconds(80 ticks) to consume it.

You could also add bread crumbs to soups upon crafting them. This will increase the saturation and hunger bars gained by 1.5.

A full crafting grid of bread crumbs will craft one loaf of bread. Farmers and wandering traders may sell bread crumbs. 

I feel like bread crumbs would make much sense for Minecraft. They're commonly used for cooking recipes, and in classic adventure-based novels, so they seem like a no-brainer.
