I know I'm not the only 1 to be surprised that the myth (Pre Cave Update) of finding diamonds more frequently around layer 11 lava pools isn't actually true, which doesn't make sense because both on a realistic and game design level, that would be a perfect element of strategically mining for rare ores. In the cave update, when under the deepslate section of the world, ores generating there, especially diamonds, should generate more often around lava pools and aquifers, because it brings another risk-reward element to mining that would really benefit the game. Other than collecting lots of lava, deep lava pools and aquifers would be frequently relevant to everyday mining. It's nice that the coal in fossils are replaced with diamonds under deepslate, but those rarely generate at all so something that happens more often but is more dangerous would be a welcome addition.
