Astral Potion

Allows you to travel incorporeally for the duration of the potion. Your body remains where it is and can take damage, but your projection cannot do damage to non-astral characters and NPC's. Your astral self cannot be damaged except by a Witch or astral character. Any damage or curse done does damage to your body. You can see and do damage to other characters in astral form. (Clarification, you cannot access block menus, open doors/trap doors or break blocks.)

    I think you misunderstood. You can only attack others in astral form. In other words, it's just a walk-about. It in no way allows you a free attack on any character or NPC in non-astral form. Other characters in astral form will also have the same privilege of being able to damage you. I don't see it taking any more programming than dolphins or redstone objects. You cannot affect any objects not in astral form or place objects. You can't open block menus. You also can't control its duration beyond the level of the potion. It's just a walk-about.

    The designers can control its accessability by choosing ingredients to craft it that are difficult to obtain.
