The Minecraft underground, aside from the majestic caves and the bottom y-levels decorated with rare ores, is pretty boring. Just coal, iron, copper, granite, andesite, diorite, smooth basalt around geodes, and that's it. Gray stone needs to be completely removed to make room for new rocks. Sandstone underneath deserts and badlands, basalt underneath oceans, and moving tuff blobs to near the surface. Quartzite in the deep dark underneath deserts and ultra-rare deepslate blobs along with basalt columns on the surface of stone shores. The remaining gap will be filled in with granite or diorite (if underneath large hills), sandstone, clay, or any new types of rock added in the next updates.
