Ocherstone is a stone block with beige/ocher color.
It generates in deserts under the sand/sandstone layers and in badlands under the terracotta layers and will replace the "normal", gray stone - at least down to, let's say, height 40.
I always find it a bit weird when I'm walking through a desert and I see a cave entrance which is made out of normal stone. I think, this greyish texture doesn't fit into a desert.
So, to fix this, we should replace the stone with a new stone variant which fits more into arid biomes - ocherstone! Sounds unnecessary? It is, maybe. But think about the Deep Dark! We don't have normal stone there, we have this new block called deepslate, which is way darker and fits more into this underground world.
With ocherstone it would be similar, with its beige and ocher texture it would make deserts, badlands and their underground look smoother and more realistic.
And, like deepslate, ocherstone can also contain our well-known minerals, such as coal, iron, copper, gold and so on.
