Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Deepslate in a stonecutter should work like cobbled deepslate

Currently, if you're mining with silk touch and pick up a bunch of deepslate, you have to manually break it with a different pickaxe in order to get every other deepslate variant (bricks, polished, etc).  This is very obnoxious seeing as many people mine using silk touch, and switching between pickaxes would not be very intuitive.

    The stonecutter (or a new block) should allow players to break down stones into lesser versions/alternate versions or ingredients (granite, andesite, dolomite) it's a pretty common data pack that should be vanilla. We should also have the option to smelt stones up as another XP stream, for example, granite smelted to polished granite, though that isn't as important for builds.

    Definitely agree. I was pretty disappointed when i mined an entire double chest of deepslate with my silk touch pickaxe but can't use it to make any deepslate. variants.
