Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

A kiln furnace variant

The smoker and blast furnace both speed up the process of cooking/smelting certain items

yet for things like heating clay, sand and stone items there is no option other than the furnace.

So I think that a kiln furnace variant would solve this problem and wood be useful. it could also be used for the new 1.18 clay pots from archaeology.
