I really want to balance Gameplay about Mending. Once I got at least 14 Mending books And all Netherrite gear (at least 56 Ancient Debris) in survival, I'll slowly get bored of that world because I'm OP with it. Once OP, there's almost nothing left to do but to simply be resourceful, kill mobs with mend breaks, and upgrading builds faster. I'm set with the very same equipment for life in that world.
I want to give this idea as a change for this famous Mending enchantment, to create a curse hybridcy for Mending, just for a real challenge. Vote if you want Mending to be balanced
- Your Mending item damaged will lose up to 9 durability only if enchanted with any Protection, Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, or Efficiency, plus Unbreaking. The less mentioned enchantment levels, the stronger the durability.
- Any blocks mined and any mobs killed by a Mending item, the value in XP orbs that's dropped from will be reduced, more reduction with Armor with Mending worn.
