Minecraft trees have long been one of the staples of Minecraft gameplay, and with new types of trees coming quickly with each update, the forests of Minecraft could use an update.
I think that an easy way to implement a better Minecraft environment is to make it seem ALIVE, like the world is changing along with you. One way to do this is to make trees have a chance to drop saplings every so often, and then have them plant into the ground after five minutes or so. This would first of all help forests stay alive even after you cut the trees down, as well as let forests grow and change while you have the chunks loaded. (I know this is has already been implemented in a mod, though it is a rather small change and won’t change much)
I also think that the Minecraft environment as a whole could be upgraded, in similar ways to the trees, though I don’t know how exactly. It could also go well with a seasonal update, adding seasons to Minecraft as a togglable feature, as would all of these features. I also realize that biomes could have trouble with expanding forests, though as long as it’s at a decently slow rate, trees encroaching on other biomes shouldn’t be a problem. Though this could open the door for other biomes to have things such as termites and goats kind of “protect” or regulate their own biomes, adding to the idea that the environment is working around you. (I believe that everything in a seasonal update should be togglable)
