Sorta like the "lightingbug"/"farie lights" ideas? Which could be down with particles to add life to areas without a new mob and honestly would be cool. If you are thinking an actual mob is it tamable? breedable? and does it cause any affects on other mobs? like, attract enderman with curiosity (then they teleport away) or creepers (leading to a collection of them)? Certainly would be a new mechanic to have a mob that draws in the hostiles without them going hostile.

Lampyridae is very small, but unfortunately it cannot be bred and tamed.
But you can catch it in a bottle.
Lampyridae in the jar can also be taken out of the jar.
And as a "bottle with Lampyridae", it will be a material for potions that give a new effect.
Regarding the effects of this mob on other mobs, first of all, the natural enemies of this mob are spiders and untamed cats.
Spiders and untamed cats approach to attack the glowing fireflies.
However, undets such as zombies and skeletons (excluding zombie piglins, wither skeletons, skeleton horses, zombie horses, and withers) are not good at Lampyridae light and actively try to avoid them.
The potion that uses the "bottle with Lampyridae" uses it, and you can get the "Lampyridae effect" by using it.
This effect will be avoided by many undet mobs except some.
However, this effect is automatically disabled in the morning.
Of course, Lampyridae also disappears in the morning.
So, after catching it at night, you need to put it out wherever you like and name it with a name tag so that it will not disappear even in the morning.
