The fossils seem pretty empty (although it suits them). Being able to find one in the world of survival is a great achievement, you can add some special details. The tar would be used to make the environment a little more realistic, as fuel in the furnaces, we could catch it with buckets since it is liquid, it must be sticky like the block of honey or even more, and difficult to escape (if it falls on it) like the block of powder snow. An opportunity to add another liquid block, such as water or lava. It would make the "sand valley of the soul" biome more dangerous, or maybe the "swamp", who knows! It could have its own biome, like the ability to add a new mob. Also, if you notice that the tar or liquid asphalt is black, it would serve as a trap for the future Guardian in their biome as well as combining quite well.
The player, animals or monsters that fell into this liquid and began to sink would die of suffocation. The elements would remain in the background of this substance, that is why it would serve for technical worlds. Thank you for reading.
