I go fishing and get a mending book I have been looking for hours for, I am so happy, I read through the other enchants on the book and then I see it, 'curse of vanishing'. This happens all the time and it feels like curses are just a poorly thought-out hurdle. BUT, what if they weren't, just an added challenge.
Let me explain. Let's say I have a bow, really good but it has a curse of vanishing so I throw it away and never think of it again. What if, items that have curses are also blessed. What I am saying is an item will have a challenge and a reward for the added risk. My diamond chest plate with a curse of binding might have an added blessing, a blessing of enchanting, allowing me to increase enchantments on that piece of armour to another level over their cap. e.g. unbreaking four.
It doesn't even need to be that but adding a reward for the added risk of curses would make them more interesting and actually useful to gameplay instead of wasting hours of gameplay. Maybe, in the future, I will want to find a book with mending and a curse, because of the reward using a curse will give me, a blessing.
Thanks for your time
