Trees in the savannah used to have lots of leaves, with some on the bottom and some on the top just like most trees. However giraffes ate the bottom off them, so the trees were forced to adapt, and that is how we get the flat looking savannah trees we know and love. (The adaptation was also caused by the trees trying to get more sun) Knowing this it doesn't make sense that there aren't any giraffes. By not having giraffes in the game, we have to assume that the same characters that made the dessert temples were around to see the giraffe. It would also be really interesting if the giraffes were programmed to try to eat some acacia leaves now and then (kind of similar to a sheep) most of the time, the giraffes would eat one leaf block off the tree (it would be cool if it would grow back) but acacia trees have very sharp long thorns so a % of the the time the giraffes would take 1 point of damage (1\2 heart) Everybody wants more tamable animals in Minecraft so what if you could tame it some how and then put chests on it? (like a llama but without carpet) Giraffes have a very distinct run with their long legs so maybe this could be featured when the player hits them. What if similar to polar bears, they are only hostile if they have a baby with them. But unlike polar bears they will only be hostile if the player hits them or their baby. Giraffes would attack by kicking the player having some kind of knockback effect. It would be awesome if they spawned in groups or pairs.
