Time spent in an area increases chances of stronger mobs to spawn.

For those who enjoy a challenge this is for those who build their home and over time mobs that spawn one after the next are slightly stronger e.g. first night will be regular zombies but after a few nights the chance of an armored zombie or maybe a new variant  spawning will increase until you probably clear them out or sleep in another location .
