Railway Points

Hello all!

At the moment the only way to make a Minecraft Railway turn is using a redstone torch in either an "on" or "off" state. And this only allows the rail to turn side to side, so you always end up with a corner railway.

So what if Minecraft had railway points? They would allow you to build a straight railway which can turn at any point. And you can still use the old technique with the redstone torch for creating a rail that turns two ways, or you could have another point in a Y shape, that can send a Minecart in two different directions.

I think in terms of the crafting recipe for the simple point with 1 turn, the recipe should be a normal piece of rail and a lever (and maybe a piece of redstone dust for the mechanical components). As for the Y Point, the recipe could be three pieces of rail, a lever and a piece of redstone dust.

I think points would be both a fun addition and a useful tool to use on Minecraft's Railways!
