As a way to give bats purpose, once you kill one it has a 50% chance of dropping a bat wing which can be brewed into an awkward potion to make a potion of transformation which will transform the player into a bat for 1 minute when drunk. This time can be extended through the use of redstone to 2 minutes, or made into a stronger version using glowstone which gives the player batlike properties (including wings) rather then completely transforming them into a bat. The potion can also be made into a lingering, splash and tipped arrow form.
Whilst in bat form the player will have night vision and be able to fly around like a bat as well as gaining the same amount of hearts as a bat, but while in bat form players can't attack, break or place blocks. If in the bat like form, players will instead be able to glide like with an elytra and be able to detect vibrations from mobs up to 32 blocks away, like how the sculk sensor and warden can detect vibrations whilst still retaining their normal humanlike abilities.
