Allow Dye applied to an item frame to set Map Marker color

If Bedrock item frames could be dyed and that dye color would set the map marker color after a locator map were added to the frame, that would make me so, so happy. ...not exactly as easy as JE banners, but at least somewhat approximates the feature. Of all things, why is there no ability to control the map marker color in Bedrock?
