Have you ever tried to burn a small grove of trees? The fire spreads and burns the trees, but goes out within a minute, leaving floating blocks and whole trees that it couldn’t get to behind. I think there should be a way to toggle fire spreading. There would be 3 levels, low, normal, and high. Normal would be the setting worlds would start with, and would be the same as fire is now. Low would cause fire to have a very low chance of spreading, so that it would most likely burn away the block it’s on and be gone (Basically fire’s ‘peaceful mode’). High fire spread would have a much higher chance of spreading, and would completely burn away the small grove of trees from before, leaving behind no random floating blocks or half-burned trees.
People who don’t like this can just have their worlds set on Normal, so nothing would change. People who want completely safe survival worlds, or as close as they can get, can have Low on, so I guess if people want that, Low Fire would be a good companion to Peaceful. High fire would be for people who want to burn things and not have it go out for no reason.
This would not affect eternal fires, such as soul fire or fire on netherrack.
The Low Fire would disable achievements, since it would make the game easier in it’s own small way, though Normal and High would not turn off achievements. I’m not sure how the achievement vs. advancement thing works for Java, since I play Bedrock, but I’m sure there’s a simple solution to that.
